Nellie Wallace

Mrs. Nellie Louise Wallace, 79, of 144 Bynum Road, Rockingham died Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Hermitage Retirement Center. She was born January 23, 1928 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary McDonald Buckles. Mrs. Wallace was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. For many years, she was co-owner of Wallace and Sons Tire Center in Rockingham. Funeral services will be conducted graveside 11:00 am Monday, October 22, 2007 at Richmond Memorial Park with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating. Surviving are her sons, Jim Wallace and Dick Ransom, both of Rockingham; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Brooks of Columbia, SC and Lois Sellers of Waynesville. Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband George Wallace, and a brother, Lloyd Buckles The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
