Silas H. Quick

Silas Henry Quick, 69, of Rockingham, died Sunday, August 05, 2012 at his home. Mr. Quick was born November 9, 1942 in Richmond County, a son of the late Silas I. and Alma Grant Quick. He was a graduate of Rockingham High School, Class of 1961, attended New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and had worked as a supervisor with TNS Mills and Richmond Yarn prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kathy Quick and a sister, Elaine Q. Vuncannon. Surviving are his wife, Mary Cooke Quick of the home; daughters, Susan Q. Martinez, Lori Q. Warren, Janet Q. Hall, Lynda Quick and Betsy Q. Locklear, all of Rockingham; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marsha Q. Brown of Athens, GA. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Wednesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
