Lauda McDouglad Gaither

Lauda Mae McDougald Gaither, 97, of 1822 US Hwy 1N, Rockingham, passed away Monday, October 22, 2007 at Hospice Haven of Rockingham. Mrs. Gaither was born May 13, 1910 in Marlboro County, SC, a daughter of the late Archie and Mary Frances Leviner McDougald. She was a member of Sweet Haven Church and had retired from Beaunit Manufacturing. Her husband, William Culberson Gaither and a son William Lloyd Gaither, both preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Webb and husband James W. of Rockingham, grandchildren, Charles Benoist and wife Lisa, Jennie Bailey Hayes, John C. Bailey, Joseph E. Nichols and wife Jenny and 10 great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mrs. Gaither’s life will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller and Rev. Lester English officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on US Hwy1 N. Memorials may be made to Sweet Haven Church, 424 Midway Rd.
