Paul Roscoe Layton

Paul Layton, Sr. Paul Roscoe Layton, Sr., 85 of Somerset Court Retirement Center Hamlet died Saturday August 11, 2012 in Morrison Manor Hospice in Laurinburg. Born January 17, 1927 in Derby, NC a son of the late Virgil Davis and Daisy Pearl Hudson Layton. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army, a member of Bethel Baptist church and a retired heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his daughter Frances Lejean Layton, brothers Clarence and J.B. Layton, his sisters; Marie Layton Holmes, Agatha Layton Clarke, a granddaughter Dorothy Gray Layton and grandsons, Michael Dale Horton, Jr. and Ronald Dean McCroskey, Jr. Funeral services were conducted 3:00pm Sunday at Carter Colonial Chapel. Burial followed in Zion Cemetery. Surviving are his son Paul Roscoe Layton, Jr. and wife Lisa of Arden, NC., daughters Dale Layton Jay and husband Mickey of Wagram and Phyllis Layton McCroskey and husband Ronnie of Rockingham. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Teresa Layton Ibarra and husband Jimmy, Marcus Paul Layton, Brian Phillip McCroskey, Perry Glenn Shaw and Kevin Lee Shaw and wife Stephanie. His great grandchildren, Ronald Dean McCroskey III, Abigail Leigh Shaw, Ivan Maynard Ibarra, Ralph Ari McCroskey and Vivian Moon Ibarra.
