Elenita Grant Kirby

Elenita Grant Kirby 83 of 127 Mill Street Rockingham died Thursday September 6, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm. Saturday September 8, 2012 at Carter Colonial Chapel in Rockingham, Rev. Mitchell Roller will officiate. Burial will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Born November 9, 1928 in Lumberton, NC a daughter of the late Jim and Bertie Bailey Grant, prior to retirement she worked with J.P. Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd B. Kirby, her son Lloyd “Johnny” Kirby, brothers Leroy and Delbert Grant, sisters; Letha Edwards, Daphine Spruytte and Novella Beck, granddaughters Angie Snead and Courtney Kirby and one great grandchild. She is survived by her daughters Gail K. Johnson of the home and Patricia K. Feeney of Sumpter, SC., a brother James Grant of Liberty, NC., nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home 127 Mill Street.
