Mary Lucille Mitchell

Mary Lucille Mitchell, formerly of Gray, Tennessee passed away November 2, 2007 at Britthaven Nursing Home in Hamlet, N.C. Mrs. Mitchell was born July 14, 1919, daughter of the late John and Lula Smith Covington. She is preceded in death by her husbands Winston Gray, and Fred Mitchell, brothers Bruce Covington, Burney Covington, Roy Covington, sister Ruth C. Allen and nephew Johnny Covington. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by one sister, Dorothy C. Cline of Charlotte, special niece and nephew, Janice C. & Jerry Swails of Rockingham, NC, step-daughter Norma Hensley of Hendersonville, NC, sister-in-law Mrs. Ed (Evelyn) Carter of Chadbourn, NC, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Mitchell’s family would like to thank her caregiver, Carolyn Watkins, for the love and special care she gave to Mrs. Mitchell the past couple of years. Visitation will be Monday, November 5th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home in Gray, Tn. A private burial will be held at Snyder’s Memorial Garden.
