Versie Raines Moore

Versie Lee Raines Moore, 84, of 251 Larry Parsons Road, Ellerbe, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Mrs. Moore was born December 26, 1922 in Surry County, NC a daughter of the late John and Cora Noah Raines. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, where she had been active with the MYF and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper C. Moore, a sister, Agnes McDonald and brothers, Clyde, Harry, Fred and Omar Raines. Surviving are her son, Jerry Moore and wife Dorothy of Ellerbe, daughters, Connie M. Parsons and husband John of Candor, Judy M. Cox and husband Mitchell of Ellerbe, grandchildren, Dakota and Geri Moore, Cory and Ashley Boulware, John Ray and Timmy Parsons, Sheena Hogan, great grandchildren, Brianna, Kassidy and Jessica Parsons and Arahia Turner. Also surviving are brothers, Arnold Raines of Kannapolis, Ralph Raines of Cordova, Clarence Raines of Ellerbe, sisters, Bessie Hines of Ellerbe, Nolene Brookshire of Mt. Gilead, Thelma Clark of Falls Church VA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Carpenter and Rev. Roger Paxton officiating. Interment will follow in Chappell Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home on Larry Parsons Road.
