Jean Daniel Woodall, 89, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Woodall was born October 18, 1922, in Spring Hope, NC, a daughter of the late Peter Edward and Ethel Derby Daniel. She received her early education in Spring Hope and later at Pineland Jr. College and Mitchell College. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Rockingham, where she was very involved with the Homebound Ministry. She retired from the Richmond County Clerk of Court’s office with 28 years of service in Richmond and Robeson counties. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian S. Woodall in 1994. Surviving are her sons, Edward Daniel Shingelton (Helen) of Elm City, NC, Jim Woodall (Angie) of Kinston, NC; daughter, Debbie DuRant (Carey) of Beaufort, SC; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Frederick Daniel of Greenville, NC and a sister, Frances Wilhalf of Hampstead, NC. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday at First Baptist Church of Rockingham, with Rev. Dr. Jim Nelson and Rev. Debbie Holloway officiating. Entombment services will be held at 11 am Friday in the Mausoleum of Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh. The family will see friends following the service Thursday at the church and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Rockingham, 201 N.
