Eugene Hayden

Eugene Hayden, 74, of Rockingham, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Firsthealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mr. Hayden was born December 30, 1932 in Surry County, a son of the late Mager and Ada Martin Hayden. He was a member of Cameronian Presbyterian Church, had been employed with JP Stevens and was the owner of Hayden Pulpwood. His brother, Chester Hayden preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Doris Gillis Hayden of the home, daughter, Dr. Melissa Hayden, PhD of Miami, FL, brother, James Hayden of Hamlet, a sister, Ann Grant of Chambersburg, PA, 7 nieces and 6 nephews including a special nephew Roger Hayden. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday in Northam Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Straight officiating. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S.
