Mary Reynolds Covington

Mary Ethel Reynolds Henderson Covington, 83,a resident of Wilmington, NC formerly of Ellerbe, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Britthaven of NorthChase in Wilmington. Mrs. Covington was born December 25, 1923 in Surry County, a daughter of the late Billy “Boss” and Mary Beth Goins Reynolds. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ellerbe, had been employed Commonwealth Hosiery and was a homemaker. Her husbands, Fred Garland Henderson in 1961 and Robert Eugene Covington in 2001 and a daughter, Diane Wright in 1985, preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter, Pam Lowdermilk and husband Michael of Rocky Point, 3 grandchildren, Tammy Moore and husband Todd, Jodi Wright and Amanda Lowdermilk, 2 great grandchildren Warren and Meredith McBride, brothers, George Reynolds of Ellerbe, Romie Reynolds of Candor, sisters, Lola Hinson of West End, Forestine Tickle of Norman and Jessie Faye Snead of High Point. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Ellerbe Cemetery with Rev. James Watson officiating.
