Neola Russell

Mrs. Lillie Neola Oliver Russell, 94 of Rockingham died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg. Mrs. Russell was born in Lake City, S.C January 20, 1913 a daughter of the late Ben and Nancy Courtney Oliver. She was a member of Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years. She worked as a spinner in textiles. She was preceded in death by her husband John M Russell Sr. two sons Ben Russell and J.C. Russell, one daughter Macie Burns and stepdaughter Louise Odom. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 2:00pm at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Webster and Rev. Bud Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. She is survived by two sons, Maness Russell of Rockingham and Boyd Russell and wife Diane of Greensboro. Four daughters Faye Shaffe , Brenda Herberg and husband Larry, Johnsie Conyers and husband Larry, all of Rockingham Alice Lambert and husband Gary of Hamlet and one daughter-in-law Elizabeth Russell of Rockingham, 23 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm at Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham and at other times at 140 Slate Rd. in Rockingham.
