Sybil Wilson Creech

Mrs. Sybil Joyce Wilson Baldwin Creech, 75, of Rockingham, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg. Mrs. Creech was born May 5, 1937 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Virgil W. and Pearl Moore Wilson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamlet, formerly a longtime member of East Rockingham United Methodist Church and was a secretary for the Richmond County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy D. Baldwin and a brother, Joseph Earl Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Rev. David Creech of the home; daughters, Denise Wiley and husband, Rev. Danny Wiley of Greenwood, SC and Kay Overby and husband Johnny Overby of Henderson, NC;grandchildren, Meredith Dickard, Courtney Baxley, Lauren Wiley, Tyler Overby, Erin Wiley; great grandchildren, Gene Robert Baxley and Hannah Joy Dickard; step-children, David E. Creech Jr. of Kennebunkport, ME, and Jacqueline Haven of Rockingham, NC. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm at East Rockingham United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Wiley, Rev. Randy Bishop, and Rev. Pat Sykes officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice 1119 U.S. 1 N Rockingham, NC, 28379.
