Ladonia Wethington

Mrs. Ladonia Cherry Evers Wethington, 84, of 191 Waymon Chapel Rd., Hamlet died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at her home. She was born November 3, 1923 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Daniel and Minerva Frye Cherry. Mrs. Wethington was a member of faith Free Will Baptist Church and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She taught cosmetology at Pinecrest High School for a number of years. She was a former member of the Hamlet Lions Club and Eastern Star in Durham. Mrs. Wethington was a active participant at the East Rockingham Senior Center. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, December 22nd at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Hall and Rev. Marshall Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Northam cemetery. Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Sanders of Hamlet; a son, Howard Evers of Rockingham; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. Mrs. Wethington was preceded in death by her husbands, Douglas Lee Evers and Milton Wethington. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
