Katie Powell Brock

Katie P. Brock , 79, of Sierra Gardens, Hamlet, NC., died Thursday October 18, 2012. Katie was born June 12, 1933 to the late Conzo M. and Lena Williams Powell. She is survived by her husband of 8 years, Lyon Brock and one son Billy Lee Mullis of Lilesville, NC and one step-son Tommy Sanford of Cordova. Also surviving are two daughter-in-laws, five grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and her special little one, her cat, “Baby”. She was preceded in death by husbands Bill Mullis and Leroy Sanford. A celebration of Katie’s life will be held 4:00 PM Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham conducted by the Rev. Joe Wilkes II, Rev. Wesley Potter and Rev. Randy Brooks. Burial will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home, 158 Sierra Ave., Apt 18A, Rockingham In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N US Hwy1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
