Lacy Quinton Parsons, 89, was born September 21, 1918 to Thomas and Callie McCallum Parsons in Montgomery County, NC. After a brief hospital stay, he passed away on Christmas Eve, 2007. His wish was to be home for Christmas, and the family takes comfort in knowing he is home with his beloved wife, Margaret. Lacy served in the armed forces for four years during World War II. He retired from CP&L after 32 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham. Lacy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by sons, Bobby Hancock of Wadesboro, NC; Thomas Parsons and wife, Susan; John Parsons and wife, Alison; Lindsey Parsons and wife, Teena; and daughter Peggy Conner and husband, Tony, all of Rockingham. His grandchildren are Cindy Pisano and husband, Mike; Evan Parsons and wife, Jennifer; Kelly Parsons, Brandon Conner, Meagan Parsons, Bradley Conner, Marley Parsons and great grandchildren, Colleen and Daniel Pisano. He is also survived by sisters Arlene Ingram and husband, Jack and Deliah Hudson. Lacy was preceded in death by brothers, D.C. Parsons and Roy Parsons. His family was the center of his world, which was obvious in his everyday life. Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham will be serving the family; visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening. The family will receive friends other times at the home of Thomas and Susan Parsons, 519 Scotland Avenue, Rockingham, NC. A service to celebrate Lacy’s life will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dwight Williams officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church 904 Fayetteville Road, Rockingham, NC.
