Mildred Helton

Mildred Haywood Helton, 71, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 10:25 am. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty one years, Elbert P. Helton, Sr. , a son, Steven Floyd Helton and her dad, Floyd Benjamin Haywood. Surviving are; two daughters, Susan Bailey and friend Donnie Bailey of Rockingham , and Debbie McCormick and husband Doug of Ellerbe; a son, Elbert P. Helton, Jr. and wife Rose of Wilmington; her mother, Frances Lenona King Haywood of Rockingham; brother, Gregory Floyd Haywood of Rockingham; sisters, Carol Ann Long and Betsy Ross Tanner, both of Rockingham, and Beverly Fran Driggers of Ellerbe; five grandchildren, Raya Miller Coble, Kelli Haulk Pond, Heather McCormick Raines, Kevin Lee Helton, and Rebecca Anne Helton; five great grandchildren, Tinuel Dude Coble, Meghin Lynn Pond, Cayla Danyale Pond, Carson Seth Raines, and Addison Brook Raines. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, January 13th at the Church of God of Prophecy in Rockingham with Rev. Marshall Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 2 to 3 pm at the church. Mrs. Helton was a homemaker and a member of Church of God of Prophecy.
