Mrs. Myrtle R. Lambert, 89, of 144 South St., Rockingham died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at her home. She was born July 2, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Caulder Ransom. Mrs. Lambert was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Lambert loved gospel music, was a member of the Melody Trio, and sang all over the region in churches for many years. She retired from Richmond Memorial Hospital as a nurses aide, and prior to that worked many years in textiles. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, January 24th at First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Harris Jordan and Rev. L. D. Driggers officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are two sons, Richard Lambert and wife Sheila of Charlotte, and Donnie Lambert of Murrells Inlet, SC; a sister, Louise Mullis of Rockingham; and one grandson, Richard Brandon Lambert of Columbia. Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lambert in 2000 and a son, Darrell Lambert in 1961, and siblings, Eva Evans, Burton Ransom, Edwin Ransom, Jobie Ransom, Hubert Ransom, Tom Caulder, and J.
