James Gary Campbell

James Gary Campbell, 57, of Rockingham, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his home. Mr. Campbell was born December 12, 1955 in Richmond County, a son of Ethel Rainwater Campbell and the late Walter “Jack” Campbell, Jr.. He was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School , a veteran of the US Army and was employed with Brown Creek Correctional Institution. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Campbell and brother, Eddie Campbell. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Grooms Campbell of the home; son, Samuel Campbell of Rockingham; daughters, Nikki Campbell of Marston, Shellie Campbell of Charlotte, Heather Campbell of Rockingham; six grandchildren and his mother, Ethel Campbell of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Church of God of Prophecy in Rockingham with Pastor Steve Gilmer officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
