Helen Hudson Davis

Mary Helen Hudson Davis, 83, of 110 Alsace Street, Rockingham, NC, passed to her Heavenly home on Monday, December 24, 2012. Helen was born October 13, 1929 in Montgomery County, a daughter of late Winston and Anna Hudson.She retired from TNS Mills in Rockingham, NC and attended Jefferson Park Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband of 40 years Roscoe Davis Jr.; a daughter Ruth Goodson;brothers, Fred, J.T.,and Traivs Hudson and sisters, Clara Mae and Ann Marie Hudson, Doris Smith, Betty Wallace and Jean Monroe. She is survived by daughters Kay Smith and husband Larry, Linda Parker, all of Rockingham.Dianne Puckett and husband Brian of Ellerbe NC;son, Donald Davis and wife Betty of Rockingham, grandchildren Darrell Goodson and special friend Drema Jackson, David Goodson and wife Jamie, Marty and Darby Smith, Jason Smith and wife Heather, Chris Parker, Jesse Puckett and fiancee Hannah Robinson, Micaela Davis, Jamie and Adam Burney, Christy Goodson, and Kim Goodson; great grandchildren, Heather, Megan, DJ,and Hannah Goodson, Madison Carpenter, Katie Currie, Conner, Grant, Rylee, Brayden, and Taylor Smith, Shannon and Sky Parker, Abby Robinson; brothers Edgar Hudson and wife Jean of Statesville, Bobby Hudson and wife Clara from Xway NC;sister Evelyn Kerns and husband Earl of Mt Gilead NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.Also surviving are extended family consisting of JJ and Sherrell Jackson, Jody Hornbuckle, Timmy Rorie, Betty Trueblood, Ted, Betty,and Angie Goodson, Hilda Reynolds, David Parrish, Pete and Alice Smith, Larry Talley, Alice Stogner, Mike Bullard, Ronald Moore, Jeff Allred, Charlie Demecer, and Keri Daly, as well as her companion dog Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday at Jefferson Park Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Webster officating.Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
