Charles Lindbergh Covington

Charles Lindbergh Covington, 83, of Ellerbe, passed away Tuesday, February 05, 2013 at Rockingham Manor. Lindbergh was born March 25, 1929 in Richmond County, a son of the late J. Waite and Mae Agle Covington. He had served in the US Army in the Korean War and was carpenter by trade, specializing in finished cabinetry. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Allen Covington. Surviving are his children, Beth Howell of Ellerbe , Warren Covington of Star; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Clegg Covington; and sisters, Lula Wilson of Burlington and Lila Ussery of St. Louis, Mo. A service to celebrate Lindbergh’s life will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Ellerbe First United Methodist Church with Rev. Elizabeth Polk officiating. The family will see friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Thursday at the church and at other times at the Howell home, 189 Wallace Rd., Ellerbe.
