Rufus Monroe Morrow

Rufus Monroe Morrow, 74, of 158 Morrow St. Rockingham, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at McLeod Medical Center in Florence, SC. Mr. Morrow was born May 4, 1933 in Iredell County, a son of the late Floyd and Lillie Lambert Morrow. He was a member of McDonald Baptist Church and the former owner and operator of WestSide Garage. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Morrow, a sister, Margaret Pressley, a brother, Frank “ Chuck” Morrow and a son in law, Jimmy Haigler. Surviving are his wife Peggy Martin Morrow, daughters, Ginger Haigler of Rockingham and friend Lindie McLain of Ellerbe, Teresa Yates and husband Charles of Rockingham, Rhonda Hurst and husband Robert of Rockingham, grandchildren James R. Bell , Benjamin Hurst and Michael Hurst all of Rockingham, Miranda Haigler Roberts and husband Andy of Laurinburg, step grandchildren, Jennifer Yates Drumwright and husband Michael of Rockingham, Ashley Yates of Boone, a brother Floyd Morrow, Jr of Henderson and his dog Judy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at McDonald Baptist Church with Rev. Norvin Forrester, Rev. Robert Tyson and Rev. Joel Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the Yates home, 154 Morrow St. Rockingham.
