Lendon Sanford Chavis

Mrs. Lendon Sanford Chavis, 66 of 180 Eli Drive Rockingham died Friday, March 7, 2008 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Chavis was born May 7, 1941 a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret McCaskill Sanford. She was a homemaker and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rev. Jerry Straight officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Chavis of the home, one daughter Krisanne Chavis of Rockingham and two sons David Chavis and Scott Chavis of Rockingham, three brothers Tom Sanford, Joe Sanford, Jim Sanford all of Rockingham and one sister Shirley S. Thompson of Texas, Five Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Chavis will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church 217 Midway Rd.
