Margaret Lowdermilk

Mrs. Margaret Ellerbe Lowdermilk, 84, of 127 Westmore St., Norman died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was born October 10, 1923 in Ellerbe, a daughter of the late James Wesley Ellerbe and Elsie Allen Ellerbe. Mrs. Lowdermilk attended Coker College and Kings Business College and prior to her marriage, worked with Farmers Bank and Trust in Rockingham. Mrs. Lowdermilk was the office manager in her husband’s business, Wayne F. Lowdermilk Farms and Sawmill. She was a member of Norman United Methodist Church and was the pianist there for over fifty years. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 18th at Norman United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Carpenter and Rev. Roger Paxton officiating. Interment will follow in Norman Cemetery. Surviving is a daughter, Diane L. Harvey of Norman; a son, Michael Wayne Lowdermilk and wife Pamela of Rocky Point; two grandchildren, Christopher G. Harvey and wife Elizabeth of Durham and Amanda R. Lowdermilk of Rocky Point; and a sister, Carol Ellerbe Chappell of Ellerbe. Her husband, Wayne Franklin Lowdermilk in 1996, preceded Mrs. Lowdermilk in death. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and other times at the home.
