Rachel Jones Wallace

Rachel Jones Wallace, 78, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Wallace was born March 1, 1935 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Harvey J. and Lillian Elmore Jones. She had retired from the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Lakeland (FL) and attended Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wallace; brothers, Donald R. Jones, Harvey Jones and a sister Tessie Grant. Surviving are her son, Clinton Wallace of Rockingham; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Jones of Roberdel; and sisters, Pearl Williams of Jonesboro, GA, Louise Buck of Cordova, Linda Kelly of Wadesboro and Barbara Grant of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Saturday at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Lester English and Rev. Perry Comer officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at her home. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1791 E.
