Rosa Mae Saunders

Rosa Mae Poston Saunders, 91, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet. Mrs. Saunders was born in Richmond County on February 9, 1922 to the late Evander and Mary Mannor Floyd. She was a member of Joy Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond Floyd, Jack Floyd, and Evander Floyd, Jr. She is survived by her sons; Glen Poston, Carl Poston, Lonnie Poston all of Rockingham, NC daughters Carolyn Ryder Davis of Manassas, VA, Brenda Beach, Shirley Mills, and Juanita “Tootie” Diggs all of Rockingham, 26 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, at 1:00 pm at Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. June Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Northam Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8pm at Joy Free Will Baptist Church and at other times at Ken and Shirley Mills home, 108 Lorraine Street, Rockingham, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial to be sent to Joy Free Will Baptist Church, 864 N. Carolina 177 Hamlet, NC 28345.
