Sammie Goodson Tanner

Sammie Goodson Tanner 60, of New Bern died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Craven Memorial Hospital in New Bern NC. She was born February 20, 1948 in Richmond County a daughter of the late William C and Pauline Hooker Goodson. She was a housewife and former member of Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church. She moved to New Bern for her love of fishing. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Frank McQuage and Rev. Royce Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband Gene Coffey of the home, six daughters Misty Lammonds of Rockingham, April Kindrick of Olympia, Washington, Kristy Curry of Bolivia, NC, Tammie Jo McCullough of Fayetteville, Samantha Tanner of Raleigh, Wendy Dudka of Virginia, and one son, Carl Coffey of Raleigh. Two sisters Betty Trueblood of Garden City, SC, and Bobbie Reeves of Greenville SC, one brother Ted Goodson of Rockingham. Eleven Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at 1021 Battley Dairy Rd. Rockingham and 536 Airport Rd. Rockingham.
