Audrey Bailey Pate

Mrs. Audrey Bailey Pate, 80, of 491 Haywood Cemetery Road, Ellerbe, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mrs. Pate was born February 20, 1928 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late D.B. and Myrtle Gaddy Bailey. She was a member of Pee Dee United Methodist Church, one of the original Southern Bell Telephone Operators and had been employed with J.P. Stevens Co.. Her husband, Simeon Franklin Pate and her sister Elizabeth Wilson preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Nedra and Wayne McInnis of Ellerbe, Terri and Carlton Hawkins of Ellerbe, grandchildren, Adam McInnis and wife Tammy of Rockingham, Brent Hawkins of Greenville, NC,great grandchildren, Tabitha Reeves, Toby McInnis and her brother-in-law, Stan Wilson of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Bobby Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home on Haywood Cemetery Rd.
