James "J.B" Brice Carriker, Jr.

J.B. Carriker James Brice Carriker, Jr., 64, of Ellerbe, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. J.B. was born January 2, 1949 in Richmond County, a son of the late James B. and Blanche Dunn Carriker. He was a member of McLean Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Class of 1967, and a member and past master of Elberta Masonic Lodge # 654, A.F. & A.M.. He served on the board of directors of Richmond County Farm Bureau and for many years was active with the US Special Forces, Robin Sage Auxillary. He had worked with S&S Wheel Alignment and Fairview Alignment and was a retired farmer. Surviving are his daughters, Elaine Carriker of Bolton, NC, Elizabeth Hinson ( Freddie) of Ellerbe; grandchildren, Savannah and Abigail and a host of cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday in the Ellerbe Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John Stone and Rev. Donnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home.
