Dorothy Smith Cherry

Dorothy Mae Smith Cherry. 77, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Hospice Haven. Mrs. Cherry was born September 6, 1936 in Stokes County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smith. She had been employed with L’Eggs Hosiery for many years and also with Burger King. Surviving are her children, Danny Cherry, James Cherry, Betty Davis, Dorothy Ann Cherry, Elizabeth Taylor, Patricia Bryant and Wanda Bowman; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Vester Smith and sister Jean Speight. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday at Outreach for Jesus with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
