Burnie James Richardson, Sr.

Burnie James “Buck” Richardson, Sr., 83 of McDonald Church Road Rockingham died Saturday October 26, 2013 in Hospice Haven, Rockingham. Buck was born November 4, 1929 in Richmond County, NC a son of the late Homer Lee and Roney Cagle Richardson. He was a Korean War Veteran of the US Army. Prior to retirement he worked with Beaunit Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Mae Richardson, a daughter Linda Faye Richardson Rogers Wynn, his brothers Ed, Dob, Bookie and Larry Richardson, his sisters, Bessie R. Smith and Dorothy R. Brown. He is survived by his son Burnie James Richardson, Jr., his brothers, Hurley and Harry Richardson both of Rockingham, Lee Richardson of Columbia, SC, a sister Barbara Smith of Rockingham . Also surviving are nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Buck Richardson will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday at Richmond County Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Gary Richardson. The family will receive friends at Carter Funeral home in Rockingham Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-2:30 pm. and following services at the cemetery.
