Leslie Whipple Hammann

Mr. Leslie Whipple Hammann, 92, formerly of Deweese Ave., Rockingham, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Rockingham Manor. Mr. Hammann was born April 8, 1916, in Wooster County, Mass., a son of the late Alfred and Bertha Whipple Hammann. He was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, a textile designer with Hannah Pickett Mfg. Co. and an active member of Cameronian Presbyterian Church. His wife, Elizabeth Robertshaw Hammann preceded him in death. Surviving are sons, Don Hammann and wife Sharon of Rockingham, Mark Hammann of Canada, daughters, Gail LaFrance and husband David of Old Fort, Carol Russ and husband Joseph of Lakeland, Fl., 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Gebhard officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at Don and Sharon’s home, 193 Sam Richardson Rd. Rockingham.
