Hazel Ritter King

Hazel Ritter King, 82, of 673 Pleasant Hill Church Rd, Ellerbe, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home. Mrs. King was born May 11, 1931 in Montgomery County, NC, a daughter of the late Joel and Gertrude Robinson Ritter. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert F. King and a son Larry King. Surviving are sons, Jimmy King and Gary King, both of Ellerbe; daughters, Delores Tyree of Franklin, KY, Janie Boyle of Ellerbe, Sarah Boles of Granite Falls, NC; 20 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; a brother, Neal Ritter of Hartsville, SC; and sisters, Gwen Lamonds of Candor, Shirley Hale of West End and Ethel Ritter of Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Richardson and Rev. David Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home on Pleasant Hill Church Road.
