Mary Currie Johnson Lawrence

Mary Currie Johnson Lawrence, 66, of Ellerbe, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Lawrence was born September 7, 1947 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James W. and Geneva Williams Currie. She attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and had retired from Sara Lee Hosiery. Surviving are her husband, Bill Lawrence of the home; son, Jeffrey Keith Johnson (Cammy) of Ellerbe; grandchildren, Candace Garner (Zach) of Hamlet, Haylee Johnson of Ellerbe; brothers, Ed Currie of Charlotte, John Currie of Nashville; sister Jane Cox of Thomasville; and step-daughters, Kathy Lawrence of Jackson Springs and Ellen Fields of Randleman. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Elizabeth Polk officiating. Entombment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will see friends from 11:45am to 12:45 pm Thursday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
