Hazel Ray Honeycutt

Hazel Lucille Ray Honeycutt, 89, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Honeycutt was born August 17, 1924 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John Stancil and Viola Cater Ray. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew T. Honeycutt in 1991, a daughter Wanda Sue Honeycutt, brothers, Basil, Bill, Raymond, Harvey, Earl and Oscar Ray, and sisters, Aline Watkins, Ruby Polk, and Johnsie Powell. Surviving are her children, Donna Graves of New Orleans, LA, Dale Thomas of Rockingham, Patty Brooks of Rockingham, Janice Hodges of Hamlet and Carol Lynn McCaskill of Swannanoa, NC; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Friday in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Russell Edwards officiating. The family will greet friends following the service and at other times at the home.
