On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer, Pamella Sue Felix passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter and mother. The last words she could speak were” The Lord is my shepard”. Surely Pam is with the Lord now. Pam was born May 24, 1953 in Johnstown, PA, a daughter of Hannah Christine Hildebrand Bender and the late Robert E. Bender. She grew up in Johnstown and Salix, Pa and graduated from Forest Hills High School, Class of 1971. In 1978, she moved to Rockingham, NC where she owned and operated Southeast Stone Company, where she had many wonderful business associates. Surviving are her mother, Hannah Hildebrand Bender of Windber, PA; children, Owen R. Felix of Rockingham, NC, Renea F. Purvis of Prosperity, SC; grandchildren, Justin Felix and Jamie Purvis; sister, Sandy Guyer of Bedford, PA; brother, David Bender of Pasadena, MD and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, November 29, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Steve Eddins officiating. Interment will be held in the Hedrick Cemetery in Conemaugh, PA. The family will see friends following the service at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, who’s staff and congregation have been a great source of comfort to Pam.
