Addie Belle Melton Hartman

Addie Belle Melton Hartman, 82, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Hartman was born September 11, 1931 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Willie and Lee Paul Melton. She had retired from Burlington Industries and was preceded in death by her brother, William Melton and sisters, Bertha Ivey, Mary Kanipe and Martha Cain. Surviving are her son, George Michael Wallace of Rockingham; three grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 am Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jean Pierre Swamunu, celebrant. Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. The family request that any floral tributes made be in the form of perennials to be planted in a memorial garden at the home.
