William Larry Coleman, 78, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet. Larry was born December 18, 1935 in Anson County, a son of the late Dewey W. and Ethel Gaddy Coleman. He was a member of Rourk Presbyterian Church, Rockingham Masonic Lodge 495, A.F.&A.M and Hamlet Shrine Club. He had worked with Carolina Standard and retired from McDonald Brothers in Laurinburg as a sales representative. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys McLester Coleman. Surviving are his children, Dewey Coleman (Robyn) and Lisa Coleman English (Terry) , all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Dewey Coleman, III, Nicholas Coleman, Andrew Coleman, Joey English, Brittany English, Eric Stedman, Amber Hogan; 7 great grandchildren; and brothers, Donald Coleman of Hickory and Robert Coleman of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel in Rockingham with Rev. John Stone and Rev. Sonny Diggs officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. Masonic rites will be conducted by Rockingham Lodge 495, A.F. & A.M. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at 113 Payton Court.
