Sarah Gertrude Mudd

Sarah Gertrude Driggers Mudd, 90, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Mudd was born October 7, 1923 in Marlboro County, SC, a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Ed Driggers. She attended Sweet Haven Church and retired from Aleo Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie H. Mudd, daughter, Sarah Bryant and son, Roger Mudd. Surviving are sons, James Mudd and Willie Mudd, Jr., both of Rockingham; daughters, Effie Miller of Mt. Holly, Shelia Daniels of Charlotte; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 1:45 to 2:45 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
