Carolyn Bowles Lampley

Carolyn Bowles Lampley, 81, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at The Hermitage of Rockingham. Mrs. Lampley was born May 1, 1932 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Charlie Bowles and Alice Wilson Brown. She was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist Church, had worked with Richmond Insurance and Realty and retired from Sara Lee Hosiery. She was preceded in death by her husband Sarius Lampley. Surviving are her daughter, Linda L. Smith of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Deana Poole and Dale Smith, Jr. and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
