Mrs. Tiny Mary Morse Taylor, 89, was taken by the angels to heaven at 2:25 am Thursday, July 10, 2008. She was born October 22, 1918 in Richmond County, the last living child of the late Jesse Walter Morse and Ellen Jasper Frye Morse. She resided in the Zion community, with her husband of fifty-six years, Lloyd Taylor, until his death in November 2006. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham. She graduated from Rockingham High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Taylor was active in the Rockingham Lions Club as a Lioness. She was a loving mother and beloved friend to many. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, July 13, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham with Rev. Dwight Williams officiating Burial will follow in Northam Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church. Surviving are daughters, Phyllis Gainey Ford and husband James, Hilda Gainey French and husband Warren, and Sherry Taylor Nichols and husband Travis, all of Rockingham; sons, Dewey Gainey and wife Carole Ann of Charlotte and Carol Gainey and wife Wanda of Rockingham; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Gladys M. Sheppard, Jesse W. Morse, Jr., Bernie Morse, and Blanche Morse. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 904 Fayetteville Rd., Rockingham, NC 28379.
