Kenneth Charles Boone

 Kenneth Charles Boone, TSGT USAF-RET., 89, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at his home.   Mr. Boone was born December 9, 1924 in Hyannis, Nebraska, a son of the late Jake and Margaret Krouse Boone. He served his country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force during both World War II and the Korean War. Following his retirement, he was the owner/operator of Discount Shoes in Five Points area of Rockingham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann McKenzie Boone.  Surviving are his children, Geraldine Kay Boone of Carlsbad, CA, Kenneth C. “Chuck” Boone, Jr. of Winston Salem, NC, Casey Patrick Boone of Rockingham; a granddaughter, Mikayla Carlson Boone of Rockingham and special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Keith and Donna McKenzie of Rockingham.  A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2pm Friday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. June Grant officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.The family will see friends following the service at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County/Anson County Hospice, 1119 N.
