Anna Earline Wiggins Callahan

  Anna Earline Wiggins Callahan, 81, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, April 01, 2014 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mrs. Callahan was born September 7, 1932 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Herman Lee and Anna Pauline Cashwell Wiggins. She was a charter member of Southwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, a member of the VFW Women’s Auxillary and had been employed with Sara Lee Hosiery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dewey Callahan, Jr.; children, Samuel Dewey Callahan, III, Anna Pauline Callahan; a grandson, Matthew Travis Callahan and a brother, Herman Leroy Wiggins.  Surviving are her children, Karen Colleen Gilliam and husband Joseph of Rockingham, Timothy Lee Callahan and wife Yvonne of Rockingham; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Bunnie and Chris Christianson of Fayetteville.   Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Friday at Southwood Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Randy Guerry officiating. Entombment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum.   The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.  Memorials may be made to Richmond County/Anson County Hospice, 1119 N US Hwy 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.  Condolences may be made online at www.carterfuneral.net
