Leonard L. Patrick, 91, of Rockingham, NC passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014.  He was born on November 6, 1922 in Jasper, Alabama to the late Joseph & Minnie Patrick.   Mr. Patrick was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Sarah Hooks Patrick, four brothers and one sister.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Linda Patrick of Statesville, NC and his daughter and son-in-law, Chris & David O’Neal of Mount Airy, NC;  three granddaughters: Heather O’Neal & husband, Jamie, of Asheville, NC;  Ashley Moser & husband, Jared, of Mount Airy, NC; and Laura Elliott of Hamlet, NC;  six great-grandchildren;  sister, Evelyn Wilson, of The Villages, FL;   brother, Raymond Patrick, of Fort Smith, AR, and many nieces and nephews, all very dear to him.             Leonard served the United States Army as a paratrooper during World War II.   He retired from the Railroad in 1985 and attended Cameronian Presbyterian Church in Rockingham.  Leonard and his wife, Sarah, enjoyed traveling across the country in their motorhome with friends during their retirement.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing golf, camping, fishing and backpacking.  His greatest joy was found in spending time with his family.              Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cameronian Presbyterian Church, Rockingham, NC, with Reverend Wyatt Coley officiating.   The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at Cameronian Presbyterian Church beginning at 12:30 p.m on Saturday, April 12.  Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cameronian Presbyterian Church, 179 Northam Rd., Rockingham, NC 27379; Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N US Hwy 1,  Rockingham, NC 28379; or to Hospice Foundation of FirstHealth, 150 Applecross Dr., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
