Annie Laurie Cribbs, age 92, passed away April 15, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Annie Laurie was born April 30, 1921 in Richmond County and was the daughter of the late Marcum Blaine and Wilma Ballard Williams. She was married June 27, 1941 to Earl Cribbs who died in 1972. Her beloved, oldest daughter, Anne Brigman, died July 19, 2013. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Nuttall, Alma McRae, and Edna Coleman, and her brothers, Louis Williams and Edgar Williams. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Bob Curry of Monroe, her son-in-law, Sam Brigman of Rockingham, her grandsons, John Mark Brigman of Hamlet, Shannon Brigman of Hamlet, Robert Curry of Indian Trail, and a granddaughter Anna Curry of Charlotte. She is also survived by two great granddaughters, Johnna and Jorja Brigman. Annie Laurie volunteered for many years for the American Red Cross. Her greatest enjoyment came from the yard and garden work that she so fortunately was able to continue until her death. She push mowed her yard through the age of 92. Her last day of activity, April 12, 2014, was spent working in her beautiful yard which was in bloom with pansies, azaleas, and dogwoods. She will be greatly missed by her family. In keeping with Annie Laurie’s requests, her funeral service will be held privately for members of the family. In lieu of flowers, she has requested that memorials be made to Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, Inc. , P.O.Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450.
