Monnie McLean Adcock

Monnie Bell McLean Adcock, 90, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Richmond Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Hamlet.  Mrs. Adcock was born May 20, 1923 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Solomon “Mac” and Mary Lena Hasty McLean. She was a member and Elder at Park Avenue Presbyterian Church and had retired from JP Stevens Co, Martha Baum Plant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Eugene Adcock, infant son, Dwight Adcock, and siblings, S.G. McLean, Lewis McLean, Bill McLean and Nell Bethune.  Surviving are her son, Fred E. Adcock, Jr. of Hamlet; grandchildren, Traci Burton (Larry), Kevin Adcock (Fran); great grandchildren, Colton and Kaylie Walker, Piper and Caleb Adcock; brother, Robert McLean of Florence, SC and sister Helen Walters of Rockingham.  Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Mackie Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
