Ella Clarice Deason Locke

Ella Clarice Deason Locke, 88, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Rockingham Manor in Rockingham. Mrs. Locke was born September 16, 1925 in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Harvey Reece and Nora Cheves Deason. She was a waitress for over 60 years and had retired from Horne’s Motor Lodge in Fayetteville.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Locke, a son Charles Campbell, a brother, Thomas Deason and a sister Mildred Miller. Surviving are sons, Matthew Wayne Locke of Hamlet, William Mark Locke of Maple City, MN, David Locke of Fort Sam Houston, TX; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Monday at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
