Billy Gean Rainwater

Billy G. Rainwater, 82, of 124 Springdale Drive, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Doris Richardson Rainwater, sons, Michael Rainwater and wife Terry and Ronald Rainwater, both of Rockingham, daughters Myra Collier and husband Scott of Mt. Croghan, SC and Melody Goodwin and husband Mike of Aberdeen, NC, grandchildren Kevin Rainwater and wife Lynn, Michael Gower, Elizabeth Cheezem and husband Paul, and Jillian Collier, great grandchildren Ethan and Austin Rainwater, brother Bobby Rainwater and sister Sara Stewart and husband Coy of Rockingham. Mr. Rainwater was born on October 13, 1931 in Richmond County, a son of the late John Roy and Elizabeth Grice Rainwater. He is also preceded in death by his infant sister Katharine. Mr. Rainwater was a business man in Richmond County for the past 50 years before retirement. He loved nature and was an avid fisherman. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 3pm. Family will receive friends from 1:30pm – 2:30pm in the church fellowship hall before the service.
