Herbert Mathew “Herbie” Brown, 65, of 183 Crawford Road Ellerbe died Wednesday July 16, 2014 at his home. Born May 6, 1949 in Newark, NJ , a son of the late Stacy Herbert and Katherine Helene Pall Brown. He was a veteran of the US Army and had retired as Produce Manager with Winn-Dixie and had worked with Food Lion following his retirement. He is survived by his wife Linda Hunsucker Brown of the home, a step daughter Michelle Iacona Hoffman of Rockingham, his sisters Connie Benoist and Karen Gainey of Rockingham and Sarah Sessoms of Hamlet A service to celebrate his life will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday July 19, 2014 at New Covenant Christian Fellowship 120 Hamer Road in Rockingham, Rev. Steve Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church and other times at the home on Crawford Road.
