Peggy Brigman

Mrs. Alma ‘Peggy’ Goodwin Brigman, 92, of 269 Osborne Rd., Rockingham, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at her home. She was born July 31, 1916 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Lacy Gibbs Goodwin, Sr. and Lee Hinson Goodwin. Mrs. Brigman was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Rockingham High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Brigman loved most especially her family, then her Christian Library, her flowers, her animals, especially her Chihuahuas, which she raised and bred for over 40 years. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 Wednesday, September 3rd at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Surviving are a son, Walton Brigman, Jr. and wife Debra of Rockingham; a daughter, Pam Brigman Park and husband Butch of Rockingham; four grandchildren, Beth Park Hall and husband Nick, Josh Park and wife Jessica, and Becca Park, all of Rockingham, and Katie Brigman Nichols and husband Chris of Mooresville; and one sister, Myrtle Trexler of Rockingham. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walton L. Brigman, Sr. in 1995, and two brothers, Lacy Gibbs Goodwin, Jr. and Jerry Goodwin. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm at Temple Baptist Church in Rockingham.
