Mack Dewey Smith, Jr.

Mack Dewey Smith, Jr., 81 of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, August 07, 2014 at his home. Mr. Smith was born August 15, 1932 in Richmond County, a son of the late Mack Dewey and Lula Mae Johnson Smith. He had served his country in the US Army and had retired from CSX Railroad. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Slack Smith of the home; children, Michael Smith, Robert Smith, Dewey Smith, Diane Masterson, all of Rockingham, Lisa Pressley of Hamlet; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Bryan Smith, Cassandra Smith and Taryn Masterson; and great grandchild, Bryson Wade Smith. A service to celebrate Mack’s life will be held at 6 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Wesley Williams officiating.
